of security, and the complex technology involved, the Financial Services
industry has finally expanded into the wireless arena. One large Pacific
Northwest bank recognized the value of wireless technology, and contracted
with RZ & Associates to provide them with the most advanced and useful
RZ & Associates solution came in the form of a wireless teller device,
deployed in 5 pilot bank branches. The wireless product's main function
is to alleviate long lines at bank branches for simple transactions. With
the handheld wireless device, a bank employee can pull any customer out
of line and perform a number of functions such as, deposits, transfers,
withdrawals, and cash back, and print the customer a receipt with the
hand-held printer attached to the device. This function can be done anywhere
within the bank branch and allows teller greater versatility and eases
long customer wait times.
The technology consists of a Symbol PDA device and wireless access points that runs on a Brience network. The problem of security was solved using a complex system of Virtual Private Networks and wireless firewalls. RZ & Associates consultants built the wireless device from the ground up, it was truly one of a kind. Overall, the unique financial device allows banks to run more effectively, for a fraction of the cost.Large Global Financial Institution RZ & Associates worked with a large financial institution, which had already started a global enterprise management strategy and product deployment. The deployment was running into various issues related to stability and consistency. The client also had requirements to integrate various enterprise management tools into a consolidated monitoring console. RZ & Associates was contracted to perform an Enterprise Management Assessment. Using the FCAPS model (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security), we completed an analysis, which led to improved processes and insured global deployment consistency. A new design was created to deliver an enterprise management console for monitoring all the required monitoring tools from a single console. This deliverable met and exceeded the client’s desired goals for their enterprise management strategy. RZ & Associates was then retained to implement those changes. The end result of that design and deployment was a major improvement in their proactive enterprise management system.
Global Insurance Company The client was expanding, and they needed to upgrade their systems. RZ & Associates was contracted to provide a solution that would plan, test, and implement an upgrade to all of their systems and desktops. Using proven methodologies and tools with which RZ & Associates was experienced, we were able to complete this migration without any business interruption. National Web-Based Transaction System
This company was
implementing a newly redesigned Web based transaction system. RZ &
Associates was enlisted to provide an enterprise management solution.
One challenge for the client was determining the appropriate level of
firewall protection to implement. Using Computer Associates Unicenter
we were able to provide a monitoring solution that would allow the monitoring
of Web servers and application servers located in various DMZs without
compromising the level of security the client required.
